You can recommend Chinese and foreign language books, journals, and database resources that you need, and we will carefully evaluate each recommendation and provide timely feedback on the results. We sincerely invite you to actively participate and help us improve the collection.
Recommendation Tips
Before recommending a purchase, please check Resource Search or the databases the library subscribes (https://lib.cityu-dg.edu.cn/database/all)to avoid duplicate recommendations.
Please provide detailed and accurate information about the recommended resources (such as language, ISBN/ISSN, title, author, publisher, publication date, and reasons) to help the library process your request more quickly.
The library will consider whether to purchase based on acquisition principles, annual acquisition plan, budget constraints, and the status of various types of collection.
Recommendation Process
1、Book Recommendation
Please use “ICAIFANG” (https://cityu-dg.icaifang.cn/)to recommend books (including print books and e-books) and check the latest processing status.
The library will respond via email within 5 working days regarding whether the books will be purchased. Once a recommendation is accepted, the library will promptly place an order. Generally, for Chinese books it takes 3-6 weeks from the time the order is placed until the book arrives at the library and completes the cataloging process, while for foreign language books it takes 3-6 months. The delivery time for individual orders may be extended due to unforeseen factors such as publication timing, distribution status, and procurement channels. We kindly seek for your understanding for such cases.

2、Journal and Database Recommendation
Due to the high costs of journals and databases subscriptions, recommendation should be made by faculty members. If students want to recommend a purchase, they are advised to consult with teachers, who can then send an email to library at mailto:library@cityu-dg.edu.cn.
Please specify the name of the journal or database, the reason for the recommendation, and the subject area in the email,. For journals, please indicate whether it is an electronic or print journal, and provide the ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) if possible, to ensure more accurate identification of the journal you are recommending.
Upon receiving your recommendation, the library will review it and make purchase decisions based on the collection development policy and budget considerations. A reply email regarding the recommendation will be sent to your campus email. Please kindly check your inbox for updates.
