The National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) has introduced over 30 specialized foreign academic society current journal databases with strong professional relevance but low domestic availability through a "national license, nationwide access" model. These databases include more than 400 journals. Additionally, to address the historical lack of foreign journals in China, NSTL has purchased the backfile databases from major international academic publishers, renowned universities, and academic societies, covering over 3,000 journals. These backfile databases are provided free of charge to non-profit academic users across the country through NSTL's service platform. The backfiles can also be accessed via the current platforms of their respective databases.
