What are the library’s opening hours?

How many open-shelf books can faculty/students/others borrow? What is the loan period?
- Staff: 50 volumes, 90 days (maximum total loan period 360 days)
- Students: 50 volumes, 60 days (maximum total loan period 180 days)
- Others: 20 volumes, 60 days (maximum total loan period 120 days)
What are the rules for borrowing Course Textbooks and Course References?
- Course Textbook: Faculty/Students: 1 copy, 1-day loan; No renewal/reservation permitted
- Course Reference: Faculty/Students: 1 copy, 7-day loan; No renewal/reservation permitted
How to renew borrowed books? What are the restrictions?
A user can renew a borrowed item before it is due, and the due date will be extended by one borrowing period from the date of renewal.
However, if the loan period reaches its maximum, or if the borrowed item is on call, you cannot renew the item. Course textbooks are not for renewable.
How to reserve a book? Can textbooks be reserved?
A user can request an item if it is out on loan. A message will be sent to you when the item comes back to the library and is ready for you to pick up at the Service Desk by presenting the email. The library will keep the item at the Service Desk for a maximum of three days.
Course textbooks cannot be requested.
Under what circumstances will books be recalled?
All open-shelf books can be recalled. Books that are recalled cannot be renewed.
When a recalled book is not due, the system automatically sends a courtesy recall notice. The user should return the book as soon as possible after using it. If the recalled book is not returned 7 days after the due date, the user's borrowing privilege will be suspended.
What happens if Course Textbooks are overdue?
When a textbook is overdue, the overdue fines will be charged at a rate of 8 RMB per item per day, and the user's borrowing privilege will be suspended. The borrowing privilege will be resumed only when overdue items are returned, and the payment of fines is made.

What penalties do users face if a loaned book is damaged?
Users are expected to cherish library materials. In cases where an item is found severely damaged, including but not limited to markings on pages or missing pages, the library reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary actions, which may include issuing a warning letter, suspending borrowing privileges, and purchasing a replacement copy of the same edition as deemed necessary.
How should a user compensate if the borrowed book is lost?
After losing a library material, users should promptly report it to the library service desk. When the lost item is confirmed to be unrecoverable, if an identical edition (same title, same author, same publisher) or a new and authentic book acceptable by the library can be purchased, the purchased book may be returned to the library as a placement. When a new copy cannot be bought, the user has to pay for the loss, and the rate is three times the price of the lost item.
If the library material is overdue when the user reports its loss to the library service desk, the overdue fee will be calculated up to the date of the report.
Can leaflets and posters be distributed in the library?
Access to the library is permitted solely for the purpose of using library resources or studying. The unauthorized distribution of leaflets and posters is not allowed, and all unauthorized materials will be removed.
Can audio, video, photography and other audio-visual recordings be made in the library?
To protect the privacy of all staff and users, audio recording, video recording, photography, and any other form of audio-visual recording are prohibited unless expressly authorized.
Who is responsible for users' personal belongings in the library?
The library is a public facility, and users are responsible for their personal belongings. The library is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.
Can users use their personal belongings (e.g. bags, books) to occupy a seat when they are temporarily away?
Personal items may not be used to reserve seats by being left on tables. Books and other personal items left unused for more than 1 hour will be cleared away. All unattended food and drinks will be immediately discarded.
Are food and drinks allowed in the library?
It is prohibited to bring uncovered drinks and odorous food into the library.
Are animals allowed in the library?
Animals are not allowed in the library without permission.
