Users are expected to cherish library materials. How should a user compensate if the borrowed book is lost?
After losing a library material, users should promptly report it to the library service desk. When the lost item is confirmed to be unrecoverable, if an identical edition (same title, same author, same publisher) or a new and authentic book acceptable by the library can be purchased, the purchased book may be returned to the library as a placement. When a new copy cannot be bought, the user has to pay for the loss, and the rate is three times the price of the lost item.
If the library material is overdue when the user reports its loss to the library service desk, the overdue fee will be calculated up to the date of the report.
