Does the library purchase textbooks for students?

The library can connect students with textbook suppliers, but these suppliers are separate from our regular book vendors. The library does not purchase textbooks or reference books for individual students and does not interfere with readers’ personal book purchases.

Are all textbooks and reference books available in the library? How many copies are there?

The library's collection of textbooks and reference books is based on the compulsory readings and additional readings listed in the course syllabus provided by instructors. The library strives to purchase these books and typically acquires up to two copies based on class size.

However, the availability of new textbooks and reference books depends on the course syllabus submitted by instructors, and the import process can be lengthy. As a result, there may be delays in ordering and receiving books.

Additionally, due to import regulations and policies, some books cannot be brought into the country or may only be available in specific editions for sale in mainland China. Therefore, the library cannot guarantee that all textbooks and reference books listed in the course syllabus will be procured or added to its collection.

Are textbooks and teaching aids available in e-books in the Library?

It is usually difficult for libraries to purchase e-books of course reserves one by one due to the limitation of selling e-books in the collection. Primo, the library resource discovery system, supports unified searching of paper and electronic books in the collection. When patrons search for teaching materials and reference books in the collection, if there are e-books with the same title, they will be displayed together in the search result list.
