Year-End Borrowing Rewards at the Library

Dear readers, 

 

As New Year is approaching, the library cordially invites all faculty and students to welcome a new year filled with the fragrance of books! Starting this week, with the arrival of over 10,000 newly added titles, the library is launching the "Year-End Borrowing Rewards" event. 

 

Anyone who borrows a book from the library may receive a complimentary 2026 calendar. Simply present evidence of a successful borrowing - such as a photo of self-checkout confirmation screen or a screenshot of your personal library account – at the Service Desk located on the second floor. A variety of calendar styles are available for you to choose from (see pictures below), with a limit of one calendar per borrower. They are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and the promotion is valid until stock runs out.

The service hours at the second-floor service desk are: 

Morning: 8:30 – 12:00

Afternoon: 13:30 – 17:30 

Evening: 18:00 – 22:00

 

You are warmly invited to borrow books enthusiastically, embrace companionship with books, and welcome the new year with gifts as we embark together on a reading journey in 2026!

 

Friendly Reminder

1. Currently, the library is shelving more than 14,000 new books, including those recommended by readers at the Winter Book Fair. Due to the large number of newly shelved books, this process is expected to take about one week. Before shelving is fully completed, some of these new books may not be available for self-checkout. If you select such a book and the self-check machine indicates a borrowing failure, please bring the item to the service desk for manual checkout assistance. 

 

2. As some shelves have reached full capacity, the actual placement of certain books may differ from the call numbers displayed on the shelf labels. If you locate the correct call number range but are unable to find the desired book, we recommend checking the adjacent shelves or the reverse side of the same shelving unit. Our service desk staff are always available to assist you. After all the new books are put on the shelves in January, we will update shelf labels to reflect the final arrangement.
